Gregory Peck has to be considered one of the most successful actors of all time. Peck received his first Academy Award nomination for The Yearling. Peck again garnered another nomination in Elia Kazan's Gentleman's Agreement. Gregory Peck finally won for To Kill a Mockingbird (Robert Duvall). Gregory was also given the award for the greatest hero in film over the last 100 years by the AFI for this role. Peck played a wide range of roles. Other notable Gregory Peck movies include The Guns of Navarone, The Boys From Brazil (Laurence Olivier), and Twelve O'Clock High.
Peck was born in California the son of a pharmacist. He was mostly raised by his grandmother, however. He became interested in acting while attending the University of California at Berkley where he majored in English. Peck was in two versions of Cape Fear. The second version was with Robert De Niro 30 years later where he, obviously, played a different character.
