          | Superman: The Movie | 1978 | Some of the biggest movies of all time
have been based on comic books and superheros. Especially in the
late 90's and 00's when special effects became more realistic and with the
huge financial success of the Spider-Man series. The three most
popular comic book and super hero movie series' are no surprise:
Batman, Superman, and Spider-Man. The X-Men series has done quite
well, too. My personal favorite comic book movies have been
the Spider-Man (with an unusual, but brilliant, casting move of
Toby Maguire in the lead role) and the X-Men series of movies.
Both gave the characters a human element and developed good plot lines
(unlike some comic book movies). Look for a Spider-Man 3 and an
      X-Men 3 movie in 2006. |
