Rene Russo was born February 17, 1954 in Burbank, California. Rene Russo's father left her mother when she was only two, so Rene Russo grew up with only her mother and sister. Rene Russo eventually dropped out of school in tenth grade and took odd jobs to help her family. At age 17, Rene Russo was spotted by a modeling agent at a Rolling Stones Concert. Within one year, Rene Russo had a contract with Ford Modeling Agency and was a very successful print model with magazine covers. At age 30, Rene Russo's modeling jobs started to dwindle so she began to take acting lessons. Rene Russo made her film debut in the popular comedy Major League (Tom Berenger, Charlie Sheen). Rene Russo followed that with another baseball movie called Mr. Destiny (Jim Belushi). Her career making role came when she landed the role of female detective Lorna Cole in Lethal Weapon 3 and Lethal Weapon 4 (Mel Gibson, Danny Glover). Rene Russo tend s to play the strong female character with strong male leads for example Tin Cup (Kevin Costner), Get Shorty (John Travolta), The Thomas Crown Affair (Pierce Brosnan) and Yours, Mine & Ours (Dennis Quaid). Russo has been married to screenwriter Dan Gilroy since 1992. They have one daughter, Rose (born August 31, 1993), and the family currently lives in Los Angeles, California. |
